Under the bumper back up lights!

So On my 96 F250 I have no back up lights. The lights are there but don't work. Not sure if it the sensor in the trany or the plug. I have checked lights. No Power. Bulbs are good! SO If anyone could tell me where the sensor that feeds them power is, it be great. Also what plug is it under the rear of the truck.

So I was going to run a set of little Haligen fog lights I picked up at the auto store! Can't bet 12 bucks. I'm good friend with the manger there and he has them on the front of his truck. There bright. So what I was going to do was going to come off the driver side battery to a 15amp fuse, to a switch in the dash next to the wheel, then to the lights and just ground them to the frame. Is that the best way to run it? Was going to solider and shrink rape the wire connections.

Does anyone have light like this? Could you post pictures of them. I would like to to get this set in and the stock one working! Backing out of my dads wooded drive way to the grarge can sometimes be a challenge!

Thanks guys!
Doug

Not sure where the plug is, the plug on the rear is a trailer pigtail. That will work as far as a ground but, you need to take emery cloth, after you drill the hole, polish around it put the light on and seal it with a good sealer and paint it or it will corrode and no more lights. It is an awful place to hang lights, you rip them off on everything and they are exposed to bad corrosion and dirt. Last one I worked on the plug was on the outside of the trannie.

Like the little black one sold in the electrical section. And a fuse or just the relay?

George Now you have me confused. Where my putting that and I would only want to 15 amp relay right because my fuse is 15 amp? Also not what I was thinking of.

the relay wouid go between the battery and the lights to take take the load off the switch. the fuse would go inline with the battery feeding the relay.
