I have ingnored my flashing air bag lght for a while. Since my horn also quit working I knew it was the clockspring. I just replaced it with one from the junk yard. The horn now works but I am getting code 52. I found this page Ford Aerostar Air Bag Code 52 but it tells me troubleshoot around circuit 611 and 612. My factory CD doesn't even show these circuits. Any hints on troubleshooting this code?
I did find the circuits on my factory CD. I was able to verify that they read open. I have not been been able to read the voltage. Hopefully tomorrow I will have an update.
Half way to work it started flashing code 52 again. Since the resistance check was good and I replaced the module I am lost at how to fix this. It has to work in order to pass the va state inspection. Anybody out there have any ideas?
circuits 611 and 612 should have at least 16v after 40 secs engine run.
circuits pin 15 W/O and p23 P/O
if not the capacitors are shot or the thermal fuse is blown again.
suspect you have an intermittent short to chassis ground somewhere in wiring 611 or 612, insulation worn through on sheet metal or failing intermittent internal short sensor
I live in VA myself and need to pass inspection, what was your fix for the code 52 flashing airbag light.
Thx
