Well I all most pulled the trigger today, on a 2011 F-150 XL 3.7. But after I made a test run, I know I would not be happy with the F-150. Bottom line here is that this is my 3rd Super Duty truck, and once a Super Duty owner there is no downsizing! regardless of the rise in gas prices.
My bet is diesel prices stay put, and ends up cheaper than gas again.
I dont know... I'm a little worried that after the last huge price hike they realized we love our diesels so much we'll pay premium prices... I'm gonna hope that you're right though.
Agreed with the OP though. After high school all of my friends go little cars for good mileage while I was still driving the 460. Couln't give up the 3/4 ton, and now that I have a SD there is no chance at all...
A few years ago the price of diesel here was almost $5.00 a gallon, if gas hits $4.00 you can bet diesel will be over $5.00. Even with the price of fuel I don't think I could down size from a super duty to a 1/2 ton truck, it would be like driving a girls' truck.
