Hi, Peter here, from Björklinge Sweden. I have a 1965 F250 with FE352 engine. I noticed that there was no compression of the front cylinders and began yesterday the work of lifting the top lids. I saw no adjustments to the rocker, I can not find the type described somewhere. Can anyone help me with a link where I can read / learn?
Welcome, Peter - there is no adjustment. The hydraulic lifters automatically compensate for minor wear. If there is a need for adjustment, there is something wrong.
But since I have no compression on two cylinders (1 + 5) I have to lift off the cylinder heads. There seems to be no oil in the coolant water, or vice versa, thus there is reason to believe that the valves must be grind and after that they must be adjust right? Or do the lifters take care of that to?
Its a off chance but you may have wiped a couple of lifters.
Todays oils are not good for flat tappet cams.
When you do these type of motors with none adjustable valvetrain. The push rod length is crucial to maintain proper valve action. So if you valves slammed into the heads a little to much it could cause compression leaks and loose valve train.
