new here

Hi all I'm from Australia and new to the forum , I'm just starting on a rebuild of my 1990 F150 LWB.
I have had the truck from new and it has been sitting for the past two years in the back paddock not being used, on the weekend I moved it up to the front and plan on doing a rebuild and convert it to 4WD from 2WD.

I will also be building it up to use for my trip truck into the great Australian outback, I have set a 6 month time frame to get it back on the road.

Most of the parts for the 4WD conversion have been found in wreckers one part I am stuck on is the gearbox and transfer case, I currently have a 5 speed manual and want to keep the manual box. I can get a complete 5 speed and transfer from one wrecker for $3,900AU who said the transfer wont bolt up to my existing box and another has a transcase for $1000au and they say it will bolt up to my box ?
Has anyone put a transcase on to a box out of the 2wd is my question is it possible?

I will post some picks of the build as it goes along.

Cheers
Mark

Welcome to FTE. I look forward to the pictures.

Is there something about the word Blue that has significance in Australia? Another member on here has Blue in his name too.

No, the transfer case will not bolt up to your two wheel drive trans.

Thanks for the replies I will get the other box and t/case set up and sell off my old one.

The old Aussie saying of "True Blue" can be the reason but mine is from my best freind " Australian cattle dog" that are known as Blue Cattle dogs or Blue Healers or just a Bluey, they can be Red or Blue's.

Cheers
