i am looking for a pair of cv shafts for my project, does anythone know whats riggs i should be looking for in the salvage yard? id like at least 1330s, but 1350s or 1410s would be better..thanks rich
CV as in double cardan joint? Only Fords I know of that used them were Broncos on the rear shaft. They were 1330 joint IIRC so not real strong. I have a bronco rear shaft I'll be using for my front shaft after I swap to a married 205 in my '86. I believe it will need to be shortened a small amount, like 1" to 2" for my application. I'll be crossing my fingers that the 1330 joints will hold up, they sure don't in the rear with a locker.
Good luck finding any good shafts in a junkyard though. At least near me all the yard fork everything and mangle nearly ever driveshaft I've seen. It's rare to see a straight driveshaft. Front shafts you stand a better chance since it's shorter and tucked up high.
Sorry I couldn't add much, but I figured I'd throw it out there since no replies yet.
