Shot in the dark to see if anyone can help me out with this. My ventilation system goes in and out and only seems to work when it wants to. I've noticed it will work fine when I first turn the key to on, but as soon as I start the truck the air flow stops. After warming the truck up driving around a bit and shutting down/starting up a few times running errands it'll stay on. It's not vacuum related because there will be no airflow at all out of any of the vents so it seems to be something with the blower motor.
I'm also having problems with the turn signal. When the truck is cold and first started up the turn signals don't want to work. As the truck gets fully warmed up at some point the signals will start working again.
Any ideas? The windshield does leak a bit (I'm getting that fixed tomorrow) so could it possibly be moisture in the system?
Try jiggling the key tumbler a bit towards yourself and see if your electrical problems go away.
Yep, common problem with these trucks. I got so used to jiggling the keyswitch in my old truck, I found myself doing it in every vehicle I drove.
I have a small 86 ranger pickup I have been working on, and it's really bad, so bad I am going to replace the ignition switch on it. The gauges, radio, etc. won't work on it unless you jiggle the key just right.
