speedometer cable removal

yes not long i posted about my instrument cluster on my 1977 F100 ...well i found out that the printed circuit was torn..well now i need to know how do i remove the speedometer cable from the back...it has like a plastic thing over it i dont want to break nothing ..any help would be appreciated..thank you

speedometer cable removal

what year of truck? Some of them have a plastic tab that you press and hold then pull the cable out, others will thread on.

This is a squeeze the plastic coupler and pull it toward the firewall type connection.
