It's Baaack!

I guess 19800.00 wasn't enough for him. Either a flake or a shill bidder on the last auction. This is the 4th time the guy has listed this! Let's see where it goes this time....
Ford : F-250 - eBay (item 150542319863 end time Jan-11-11 22:26:48 PST)

.....I just don't know...check out the Hi Res pix and notice the orange peel paint. There is NO WAY that would leave the factory that way, even back in '84.

It isnt worth the price he wants but if I could I would buy the thing from him and drive it through everything. Think of it as a Top Gear Challenge. In my opinion a truck is made for WORKING not being 27 years old with 5000 miles and only been moved from a garage to a trailer to a polished show floor. Its sickening.

Dont get me wrong, its nice, but its just a truck. Its only a truck.

Im going to try and find the thread in another section on here where they went over everything that was wrong with this truck. Gotta love FTE cause they came up with a lot just from the pictures.

EDIT: Ok found it, it was first posted here in the 87-96 section by Roger up there. For anyone who wants to see it here it is.

It needs a d60 front end and about $10k hacked off the starting bid and it still couldn't fit in my garage.

Jason, I hate to burst your bubble but that truck is just a butt-load of smoke and mirrors. the high-res pictures will support this statement.

The DSO tells it all; if Ford was building this as a 'show truck', it would have had a six-digit DSO. That was the case when I was at the San Jose factory. I clearly remember two mustang coupes that were destined to be convertible concept cars. Most of the roof structures were left off and the engineers accompanying the cars told us what to put on, leave off or throw in the back. Six digit DSO's too.

If you were a Ford employee and you ordered your vehicle, it would have a six-digit DSO. You wouldn't just walk the line with 'some truck' while it was being built.

I'm betting it's more like Matt Garrett himself got duped and he's trying to pass the dupe along to recover his loss.

And I suspect the buyer saw the truck in person and agreed with us; pure BS and totally misrepresented. Where is the documentation that it was a show truck? I know a number of folks in the Mid-west show circuit that don't know this truck. Showing it once at a small event does not make it some fabled 'show truck'.

This guy gives eBay a black eye.

How does that guy keep selling and relisting the truck?

I agree, its a nice old truck, but its nothing close to what he says it is.

Where is that thread with all the things that were wrong with it.

truckrider814 found it;

As far as selling and relisting the truck, it's tough to sell something that's so horribly misrepresented as this truck is. when I sold my last truck, the IHC 101o pickup, I told the buyer what was wrong with it, from one end to the other. I had removed a butt-load of PO (Previous Owner) Virus from it but I had to move to an apartment with no garage. That meant the truck had to go so I listed everything I did to it and everything I felt needed to be done.

This eGay joker has adopted an attitude that some dumb clown will buy the truck without looking closely at the big picture(s). I would bet dollars to donuts that if you were face-to-face with him, holding eight large, he would take it in a heartbeat. Guys like this only know money and eight large waving under his nose would float his boat.

Gah, sorry for the rant, this guy ticks me off.

im evil arent i? I just asked this question..

I have 10k in cash waiting if your interested.

I want to take it offroad mudbogging. Ya know, gun the skinny pedal to the floor and fly into the mud pit up to the windows of the truck, trying to claw my way thru mud holes all day long with the throttle continuously pegged, that 460 screaming all day long is music to my ears!. I think it could beat many other trucks out there, it being so nice and all would be awesome since most mud trucks look like they are on the way to the crusher these days.

Let me know, quite interested in making this into the best mud bogging truck around. thanks..

Even though its no show truck, if someone does get it, I hope they don't beat the hell out of it. Its too nice for cow dings and brush scratches. I agree though, someone should drive it and use it.

Ahhh... but the relisting wasn't his fault you know.... (altho I think Ray nailed it.. the buyer found out it was not what the seller claimed and dropped it like a hot potato!!)

Before you ebay historians ask; Truck was sold to tmeyer.201 tmeyer.201.... out of New Jersey, did not follow through with his obligation. He did not bother to look at the truck, he did not bother to communicate other than via emails, he made bids he did not back up... As a result he messed up the integrity of my past auction. He has no idea what he missed, and it was certainly his loss on the deal he would have got should he have followed through. The price is now as stands, BIN, or just appreciate the truck in the photos. Sorry for the "in your face attitude", but 14 years on ebay dealing mainly with vintage cars I never have had an issue at all. Most bidders are great and I really appreciate the years I have been on here... but this is to answer those that ask. If you you are intested in the truck.... communications will get you everywhere... My phone number is pasted all over the ad and its 214-878-3823, a google seach will find me anwhere on earth, my office and home address. A phone call is serious communications, please take advantage of that.... Thanks

27 years with only 5400 miles? The entire thing would need to have ALL seals replaced. If not, it will start leaking oil and lube within 2500 miles of being driven.

I bought a really low mileage car once, that was 30 years old. It cost me a bundle chasing down oil leaks...
