The center of the step bumper has a circular indentation which seems to indicate that a hitch ball could be mounted on the bumper, but I can't get my fingers in to feel beneath the bumper for a hole.
Has anyone mounted a ball through the bumper and, if so, what size is the hole?
From all the trucks I have own I would say yes it is for a ball, but do not recommend using it if pulling anything heavy. Your truck comes with a hitch just use that.

Thanks.
I guess the big question is why would you want to? Did yours not come with a hitch, I thought it was standard. Any trailer that sits high enough (meaning it is no light duty garden trailer) to properly hitch to the bumper is most likely unsafe to be pulled from it, in my opinion.
But to answer your question I don't think I have ever seen a 250 or larger truck with a ball on the bumper.
I don't think it's possible.
There is a small metal bracket under the plastic bumper step but the hole on the plastic won't line up with the hole in the metal bracket.
If the holes did line up, it doesn't have enough support.
According to the April 2010 order guide, the 12.5k hitch receiver is standard so I agree with the others. The most you could safely tow from the bumper would be a small, empty utility trailer and even then the bumper is too high. A 2 inch drop ball mount is still too high for my 10 ft. utility trailer but just right for a 6,500 lbs+ equipment trailer.
