I just bought a 99 super duty reg. cab and want to install nerf bars. What does everyone recommend? I want some good solid ones and possibly ones that mount to the cab mounts not the rocker panels. All the manufactures just say mounting kit included not how or where they mount to. Let me know help would be appreciated.
I have stainless nerf bars and really like them, they are good and solid, they bolt to the frame. all the painted bars tend to rust and fall off in these michigan winters.
What brand did you get BigBear? I was looking at the deezee universal stainless ones for about $275. I could not locate any brand that has a direct fit for frame mount nerf bars on superdutys...looks like a bracket needs to be fabricated for a universal kit.
thanks for the reply's guy's, I was wondering BigBear what kind did you get that bolt to the frame. I to live in a similar climate like you I'm from Wisconsin and the winters can be a bit harsh not to mention all the salt they use on the roads. Let me know .
Waiting for these stock mounting, stainless, 4 in, oval bars to arrive...for the price you could not buy the materials alone I expect. Will post a pic in a few days.
Some DeeZee nerf bars came on the truck I just got. I'm 200lb and I don't budge 'em. When I gave 'em a good test jump they just rocked the truck. They look real sharp. I think you'll like 'em. the ones I have are for a reg cab and they have brackets about 1/4 in from each side, so it's not the same as yours, but they're similar.
