Ok my 93 has a weird noise at idle. Now my dad bought the first idi that capital ford sold in 1984.(ironicly the year I was born) and we have had at least 2 ever since. So needless to say I know what an idi sounds like. Now with that said my 93 has somewhat of a echoing rattle coming out from under the ip. It almost sounds like the valley pan vibrating. The engine is coming out for a idit. But I was just wandering if anybody had the same problem. Can't tell if its worse cold or hot.

hmmm.did you inspect the lift pump lever?
i remember when i first got the truck,i changed to an e-pump right after,but i recall a loss of noise after the mod.
i likely had a noisy lift pump like you may have.you just reminded me of this.didn't really drive the truck on the road yet at the time.it was just at idle that i recall.
i didn't bother even looking at the thing though,after reading about the most common problem of this engine,it just went into the trash and i never looked back.
