My next "big" project...
So, I'm going to be replacing the entire exhaust on my 93 F150 4x4, 300. Developed a hole in the head pipe between the 2 converters.
Since I've got over 200K on them, I'm replacing both converters with a CarSound Hi-Flow "Direct-Fit" system. Will go with another Dynomax SuperTurbo muffler (been running them for years) and stock tailpipe or maybe a turndown. Not a huge deal, and as far as I can tell, the hardest part will be...
Removing the head pipes from the manifolds. These are held by flanges attached to studs that screw into the manifold. Given that the nuts and end of the studs are rusted, it looks like my best bet is to replace the studs with new. Is this something that can be purchased from any auto parts store or do I have to get them from a Ford dealer?? I'd assume muffler shops replace these things fairly frequently, but maybe I'm wrong?
I've never seen such a thing for sale, so would appreciate any pointers on where to get them. I've got some time, as the CAT hasn't arrived, yet.
Thanks!
