Ford is money hungry
The cable from my door handle to the latch broke the other day. Went to the ford parts department, to order a new cable is was $100 dollars. Turns out that you must buy the part that the inside door handle and the cable attach too as well. The unit is sold as one; furthermore, the parts person said that the cable is always breaking on these trucks.
Anyways does anyone know if you can buy just the cable from somewhere else?
Aftermarket cables go for about $20.00
such as:

and many local auto suppliers other than dealers.
Please edit your profile to include the year and model, etc of your truck for better replies in the future.
Thanks for the web site. That’s probably the best parts web site, for ford I ever seen, besides motorhaven.autoanything.com of course.
Thanks again

I do ck motorhaven for parts before I post any other site, but there wasn't much listed here; esp the cables.
I have a few other sites for Ford truck parts; pm me when you need a source if Motorhaven doesn't list it.

The cheapest I've been able to find a fan clutch for is $116. Someone on this site told me they can get it in the States for about $30.
The only cheap part (and boy does this thing love new parts) was a high/low beam switch for $10.
This truck is costing me a fortune. Every day something new goes wrong with it. I never had these problems when I had a Toyota 4X4 pickup.
