E4od Is Dying
Well to add to the E4OD topics this week, mine is just about dead. OD is almost compleatly gone. It will not pull a hill without kicking like a bucking bronco. My two plans of attack are: My dads friend has one out of a 98 1 ton. He was going to drop the pan and make sure the inside is clean before he lets me know what he wants. Next my good friend used to work at a tranny shop and is friends with a guy that is very good at it. He said he'd call him. When he rebulids them he does put the upgrade kit in. Also I want a shift kit. I will most likely have one put in when it gets rebuilt, but shoud i risk the chance of putting one in the 98 tranny? im not shore of the millage or if the guy know either. I will be removing and installing the new one with some friends help. Any tips?

I'm not sure if you can use the 98 in your 94. They changed the selenoid pack in 95. Pre 95 has the interal doides in the selenoid pack, while 95 and up they moved them to the PCM. From what I understand, the connectors have different number of pins and have a different type of connection. It may be able to be done, I haven't checked into it, this is just what I have learned from the ATSG manual.
