Well, I pulled the trigger on our TN vacation package yesterday. Got a cabin for 6 nights, Dixie Stampede, Dollywood, Titanic, Aquarium, and Parrot Mountain for about $350 a person. Not too shabby I suppose.

Thanks again to everyone for the help! Don't be surprised if I pop in from time to time with a question two

Ok... I'll bite. What exactly did they do to highway 66? Is it so bad I should consider a different route in?

They're tearing it up to widen it, so it's one lane, switching from side to side, has killed business on that road as many are detouring all together, been like this for a year I was told. Depending on traffic, I'd avoid it, like if there's an event going on, it'll be a standstill.

Whew, thanks for the info. We're not going to be down there during a carshow or anything so I guess that's good. But, it looks like taking I40E off of I81, then taking 411 only adds 8 minutes to the trip. Maybe I'll give that some thought.

Any time I go to Gatlinburg. I park at Christus Gardens for like $5. Plenty of room and no roof!

I thought Christus Gardens had closed.

That sounds like just the place I'm looking for. After googling a little bit, it looks like Christus Gardens is gone but "Christ in the Smokies Museum and Gardens" has opened in its place.

I wonder if the parking situation is still the same? That sounds like a good place to park.

Sorry for bumping this old thread again but I wanted to say thanks again to everyone who chimed in with help for my trip.

We went last week and had a blast! A little on the warm side but I won't complain since we didn't get rained on.

As you all said, parking everywhere in Pigeon Forge was a non issue. And I parked at the welcome center and we rode the purple trolley into Gatlinburg and walked around. That worked great.

I wanna go back and spend more time in the National Park and do some hiking. Also we could've used a third day in Dollywood to take in more of the shows and food and less of the roller coasters and such.

Anyway, thanks again!

My wife and I were in PF for the Supernationals. Had a great time. After seeing a forcast for 60% to 70% chance of rain, I almost backed out. Glad I didn't. Only got some rain that Friday night in G'burg trying to get dinner and see the shops.

We will be back in the Smokies for a week's vacation in July!
