Hello friends, my 93 F150 5 liter has developed a ticking sound that is only audible when in gear or right when you hit the gas in neutral. I've check spark plugs, they're all tight, reseated the wires, even listened by taking the wires off one by one. It still won't go away. I can't tell if it's an exhaust leak, compression loss or a bad lifter. If you need a video/audio to get an idea, let me know. I need help and this has been bugging me for a a week or two.
I'm going to say its probably an exhaust leak. If you have the AIR crossover pipe on the back of the heads, check the diverter valve on top of it. Mine broke off and caused an exhaust leak.
