newbie to Bronco's w/ q's?????

Well I am new to broncos but not fords. I have a local guy that might sell me a 94 for $20! Unfortunatly it has been some what parted out... I have several parts trucks below as you can see... I have a rebuilt 351w and a ZF to throw in for power. The axles is where i have my questions. I don't know if my TTB's on the f250's are D44's or D50's??? What would a 94 Bronco have??? If they are both D44's there is no need to do the swap... I know that the (8.8 or 9in?) rear is gone from the bronco. So figured a sterling 10.25 would do? Just wondering what all I need to do for a axle swap? Encho already told me they weren't direct bolt ups... Anyone what to fill in the gaps of what i am going to be getting myself into. Or is there a thread you can give me?? Like "How to do a 5bolt to 8bolt axle swap?" Thanks for any and all advise. Also what custom pieces besides a custom length drive shaft will i need to do? Also do i need to do A lift kit to fit the F250 wheels and hubs in a Bronco? Or does the Bronco already get some lift when i swap the axles and suspension from the F-250???

The Bronco in 94 would have come equipped with the D44 TTB axle and the 8.8 out back. Auto transmission would be a fully electronic E4OD (put the ZF in it). Stock engine choices were the EFI 5.0 (302) and EFI 5.8 (351W) (the 4.9 was dropped from the Bronco line in 1993). Transfer case was a Borg-Warner 1356 with the electronic **** being the more common but less reliable option than the manually shifted version.

The F250 TTB axle was a D50 and leaf sprung (which is just weird if you ask me) while the D44 under the Bronco was coil sprung. Make sure that IF you plan on keeping the OEM engine control system (EEC-IV for the fuel injection and emissions) whatever axle you put in the rear has a provision for a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) or buy a "VSS relocation kit" if it doesn't. The EEC-IV computer won't function properly without input from the VSS. Cruise control won't work either.

In truth, the computer and electronics from the 89 F-250 "aka Zeus" in your profile is most like the Bronco's setup. Just make sure that if you swap to a manual from an automatic that you swap computers or "fool" the computer that drove the E4OD into "thinking" the truck is always in OD.

As for how much lift you will achieve swapping the heavier axles under the Bronco, I can't be of much help. I would imagine that the heavier springs might gain you some ride height but might also stiffen the ride. The Bronco is a 1/2 ton rated truck in stock form.
