ok... im thinking of taking the axles from my 76 f-250 high boy and putting them on my 84 f-250. what would be the best way of going about this? both have leaf springs and i plan on using the ones from the 76 cuz there lifted springs and the front ones on the 84 and well sprung flat now and have about two inches of room between the axle and bump stops... so yea. thats another thing as well i have a 460 in the 84 so would i need stronger springs then the 76 would have since it has a 390 in it. umm i think thats all... any questions feel free to ask im looking to get this done here shortly so i can get the spring thaw and fresh mud.

Your first problem is that '76 and '84 leaf springs aren't the same width. Your '76 should have 2.5" leaves and the '84 is 3". Second problem, spring pad to spring pad widths are different. Thirdly, I'm assuming it's a D44 here, why bother? Not much difference in strength between a SA D44 and what's already in your '84. Save up your money for a D60, you'll thank me later.
