Mini Maxx installed last night

I bit the bullet and installed my H&S Mini Maxx last night after months of deliberation. All I have to say is WOW. Power is great, response is amazing, zero turbo lag. Just absolute amazing performance.

I installed the S&B CAI with oiled filter, stainless CAT/DPF delete pipes and of course the tuner. My lie-O-meter says I averaged 26.7 mpg on the way to work this morning, which I know is BS, but man, it sure made me feel good. Will update once I run this tank down.

Total install time was about 2 hours for the intake and pipes. plus the download time for the tune.

For anyone considering a DPF delete, I'm a supporter 100%.

Couple Questions:

What's a safe EGT range?
Max boost?

Are traction bars recomended on a stock height truck to prevent axle wrap?

I won't run mine above 1350 for the egt. As for the boost, 40 and below would be safe. Of course if you hold it at 40 your egts will climb fast. If you run the hot damn tunes you should get traction bars

With the cat and dpf deleted, do you still have a muffler? Hows the sound?

Muffler is still on. It sounds great. It reminds me of a jet engine.

That "muffler" is nothing but a can. You can look right through it. The DOC/DPF does all the "muffling". I like the sound too. Nothing like a powerful diesel engine breathing and sounding like it should.

I see in your sig thay you are running MBRP. How would you describe the sound of it vs just the DPF/DOC delete?

I can't really tell you for sure. I got the MBRP as a DPF back unit. I did the delete much later. It sounds really nice to me from the rear when I walk behind during idle. It's all "even" sounding, as opposed to being all on 1 side.

I seem to remember seeing a TSB that fixes the cruise control from turning itself off even on early 2010 builds (but applies only to manual trannies).

That makes me wonder--all of these tunes must have been based on some earlier version of the PCM code at one point. I don't think it's simply overwriting just the cal tables...or is it?

I am interested in buying a super duty. Can anyone give me some input on the 6.4L powerstoke. I'm a former dodge owner and want some opinions on this engine. Are they reliable, looking at an 08 and an 09

Don't have any experience w/ the Mini Maxx. Any codes? Maybe EGR disabled, maybe brake light switch. Grasping at straws though.....

I have an 08 with the 6.4.
It is a good motor depending on how you would use the truck. So lets start there.

What type of use and loads or towing would you expect it to do?
