recalls
Anyway, while the mechanic was doing the recall for the cruise, he asked if I had done the recall on the CPS. I said no and really did not want it done. I also mentioned that I had purchased one of the new gray sensors last sept and it was in the glove box but I had not heard very good things about them.He agreed and He told me they had re-engineered the sensor since then and I should throw that one away. Dang there goes that money.
We talk a little more, and I end up agreeing to let him do the recall for the cps on the condition he give me back the sensor on the truck now. He was originally going to just give me the new sensor but service mgr nixed that one. I had already tried that angle and told him so before he tried it.
So he gives me back my original sensor (hot) in the bag the new sensor came in + 2 more black ones in another bag. I did not compare the part numbers to the new one I ad yet but meant too.
Seems to run okay but time will tell. Idles smoothly so I will give it a chance and now I have 4 backups just in case
Not to mention all the people that have had injectors replaced and it was the cps causing failures.
I knew all the services and brake work had been performed by the place where i got it.
