What rear axle?

Hi Guys,

I've recently bought a '84 F-250 truck and I'm trying to find out how the truck was built up.
It has the 6.9l engine and today I discovered it has the C9 tranny.

I'm trying to determine what rear axle it has ( it's a 4x2 ) and I found the following numbers. Unfortunately, the plate is hard to read;

44O 4TA-BEC
60205

Is anyone able to figure out what axle and diff it has?
The plate in the door says "Axle #72".

Thanks! Marco

How many bolts are on the rear cover? Is it full floating or semi-floating? Dana 60's have 10 bolts and the sterling's have 12 bolts.

Don't you mean a C6 transmission?

Also I think Axel code 72 is a 4:10 gear..

Sorry for the wrong info.
I indeed meant a C6 tranny.

The gvwr was wrong too. The label in the door says 8800lb

I will make a pic of the diff tomorrow. It's a 10-bolt diff.
Any chance I can verify that it indeed is a 4.11 if I open it tomorrow?

Unfortunately. I figured out that it's an open diff. I was parked on ice with my rear tires and I could hardly get out.
Are there any sets available to modify this diff to limited slip diff or would I need to change the whole axle?

thanks

For a dana 60 there are many options out there. If you do open it, it will have a 41 10 on the ring gear. Thats your 4.10.
