Alright, time has come. I have to change my plugs. She has 121k on her and has developed a miss on #2 and #8 at idle only. I know what plugs to put in, but I am trying to squeeze a little more out of her. What brand of COPs are you guys running, or any I should stay away from. Also, this would probably b a good time to do away with the clicking under the hood from the phasers.
Thanks
Get ready to spend a lot of time under the hood. I waited till 120 and I totally regret it. Follow the tsb 100% and make sure you have the spark plug removal tool available at your local Napa parts store.
removing your PCM will allow better access to your last two spark plugs on your passenger side. And removing your vacuum line will allow for easy access to your driver side plugs. Since you have a CAI they should be rather easy to extract them.
If you happen to break a spark plug be sure and seat the REVERSE thread screw ALL THE WAY down...if you don't the possibility of stripping it is quite high ensuring the need to remove the head to get the piece out.
As for the COPs there is really no difference in manufacturing as all the part stores use the same company. The only different ones are NAPA and the OEM Motorcraft.
