Eh....I got a GPS for x-mas.....wanted to try it out.
Good call
I had a guy drive to my house recently in a crap chev truck spending about $75 gas and gave me a low ball price on my already cheap priced welder then said well you have my #. I then said it would cost you more to drive back then to give me full price now???!!! I guess his time was worth nothing..
That is great! I got some turn signal lights from him also & all went great. I saw one of these on a bronco that looked like it was on it's way to get scrapped! to bad I was driving my semi the other way & working or I would have stopped the guy & bought the whole thing for parts!.
Here is an istalled pic for those of you interested.
John
is it just attatched to the bumper? It looks weak..
It should mount through the same holes the bumper mounts to the frame. I would think it should be fairly stable. It's not like it was made for ramming things, I think it should give some good looking front end protection and a place to mount a couple lights.
That's a nice detail piece and saves old Ford steel from getting scrapped and shipped to Korea. I keep my eyes out for potential finds like those.
I recently saved a set of cherry west coast mirrors (brackets and everything) for $30 cuz I couldn't bare seeing them hacked/smashed by a yard picker. 'Might have to buy a new project to mount them on.. a shortbed bumpside 4x4 to bookend my 73!
i had a pushbar on my 78 it mounted to the side of the frame and was flat bar on the sides and tube across in the middle. i dont think it was factory the one i had, yours looks allot nicer fit.
We agreed on a price before I left. He is a hell of a guy, I wouldn't lowball him if I wanted to.....
This dude drove almost 4 1/2 hours to pick this thing up. We agreed on 50 bucks for the bar. When he got here I couldn't see taking his money. I figured if he is wanting to spend 9 hours driving to pick this up Merry Christmas to him.

I believe Ford's original intentions of this push bar were to simply add some style and a spot to mount the driving lights. It is the same as the interior GT bar (roll bar) on a Bronco, it is not designed to protect in a roll over accident.

That is an aftermarket bar. Same style that I used on my old Bronco. It also only fit's the 1/2 ton frames as the leaf spring hanger won't allow it to work on a 3/4 or 1 ton.
