Thanks!
My wife has been driving a '93 for several years. Her dad drove it several years before he gave it to us. It's slowly getting less suitable for a daily driver - still runs well - just a number of things. Bought a '96 last week that's nearly a twin to the '93, with less rust, fewer miles, etc. The '96 needed some work, but was only $800. Seemed to have 1 cylinder that wasn't firing, hence the plug and wire change. The BEST plug had a 1/8" gap! Don't know how it ran at all, but it seemed pretty strong on 5 cylinders. Haven't driven it yet since the new plugs and wires, but runs smooth now. I still need to clean the cooling system and swap the tires off the '93 before we start driving it. Probably the seats, too. Then the question will be what to do with the '93.
Every time I see a post similar to yours, I remember a high school classmate who took his Aero to the dealership for new plugs and wires. The service adviser called him later that day and told him that the "mechanic" working on his van had given up halfway through the plug change, loaded up his tools and quit on the spot.
I've owned four Aeros and I've done plug changes on all of them. It does get easier, but each time that I finish, it looks like I've been in a fight with a bobcat.

goodonya for tackling the plugs and ign. wires on an Aero.
16 years on my '96. best most reliable rig I've ever owned.
that includes a '70 Torino NW w the 429CJ and Hurst 4 sp. that I bought new getting out of the service 40 years ago.
My brother had both a '70 Torino GT, 351C-2V and a '71 Torino GT, 351C-4V. Both column shifted automatics & bench seats. A good friend, my ace mechanic, has a '70 Torino Cobra and a rare '70 Richard Petty Special Torino, obviously in production before Petty went back to Chrysler in '70. I had a '70 Cyclone GT, 429CJ Ram Air, C6 in the late '70s. Later had a '70 Cyclone GT, 351 4-V, bench seat, column shifted auto for a short time. I still have a '70 Cyclone, originally a 429 4-V,4spd, bench seat, I bought as a project 30 years ago. I'll never build it now - priorities have changed.
My preferred transportation for 30 years was my '74 Ranchero GT I bought new. Swapped in a built 460 in '78, ran a tunnel ram in '80, then in '81 I put an extremely rare factory experimental 429 CJ 3x2 intake on it. Ran that til the timing chain broke 6 years ago. It's been parked since then. The body is really rusty, and I had neither the $$ or inclination to see if anything beyond the timing chain was hurt.
