BLOWER TEMP CONTROL

hello, need help.Have a '05 F250 6.0 . Last two weeks I encountered this problem . Go out and make three four stops . When I get back in truck no blower , no lights in the control in dash. Last time I stoped at my parts supplier and got a 40 amp fuse and a relay and chaged them and everything was fine . Today , same thing happen , I played with the controls , shut off the truck restarted . Later on everything came back on again .
It is OK now , but I know it will happen again.
ANyone has any hints of the problem I have ?
Thanks,
Roberto.

I've seen a few posts about that being caused by a failing Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) module. I've had a similar experience with the air conditioning a couple of times, and flipping the headlight switch off and on a couple of times always corrected it.

If you have auto headlights and EATC(Electronic Automatic Temperature Control), it's a common problem. Cycle the headlight switch next time it happens and the EATC display should light up. This problem can be an indicator that the EATC head unit is on it's way out, but it could take a long time to actually fail.

On second thought, what Steve said.

I have not call the dealer yet, is this thing going to be expensive ? Is it going to be easy to install ? Is it behind the dash ? I search for location and replacement and could not find much.
Thanks,
Roberto.

How many miles? Hours?

The failure can also be severely worn brushes in the blower motor causing a short.

If you unplug the blower fan, and the fuses don't blow...

Oh.. no light on panel can be just a blown bulb (easy to change out).

Am I correct that you have around 150,000 miles or more?

I have used the headlight cycle method for about 200,000 miles. It may happen twice in one day and not happen again for 6 months. When this method fails to correct I will think about a repair and not before.

I only have arounnd 85000 miles . It has happened twice in three weeks . I still have not called the dealer about the part's price and I think I am going to hold back and if it happens again will do the headlight trick .
Thanks to all,
Roberto.
