how much draw is normal

I just purchased a 96 F250 plow truck, with a western heavy duty unimount 7.5 plow. This is my first time with an electric plow. Prior plows were always hydro's, I hooked the plow up yesterday. It took a few moments for the plow to respond ( had to build pressure from sitting?) But when I hit the joystick I notice that the amp gauge drops from just to the right of center to the N or just past and even during daylight was obvious to notice significant dimming of headlights. The second you let off everything shoots right back up to norm. Once the plow got moving the plow cycled quick maybe a three count from far left to far right.

The story on the truck is it has been sitting for close to a year maybe more. Went to buy a different vehicle and the dealer asked if I knew of anyone that wanted a cheap plow truck he just wanted it off his lot. I agreed as the deal was too tempting to pass up. It is late in the season to get a plow truck ready for the season but oh well the deal made it worth it. So far the battery is questionable, first time it dropped down to around 10 degs the truck didn't even try to turn over, but has started every time since. Plow plugs look to be caked with old grease and grime so I plan to clean them and recoat with dielectric grease again.

Other than this the truck seems to have a heck of a skip and stumble that seems to be clearing as I drive it, and when I was hooking up the plow It looks like (and I am hope it is just) the lower radiator hose went. Other than this hoping to add breaks and rotors and get a few seasons out of it.
