Where's the fuel filter?
I will take a stab at yer question. The filter should be one of 2 places. Either screwed into the front of the carb or the other place I have seen is in the fuel pump. The pump has a threaded canister on it that you unscrew and has a filter element in it.
Hope this helps,
Now look underneath, you should see the line coming out of the cab then thru the frame. Then a 3/8" rubber hose over to another steel line that leads to the engine. I have a 71 w/360 engine. This steel line then stops just short of the fuel pump where it connects to the fuel pump w/another 3/8" rubber hose.
Then the output of the pump goes up to the carb. By tracing all the lines you can see if someone installed an additional fuel filter. Mine is in the cannister that is screwed on the bottom of the fuel pump. As you may conclude I have recently had troubles with fuel flow.
After tracing the lines from the tank to the filter, the canister is below the filter so I guess that's it.
BBB, are you sure there would be one in the carb? If so, where? The fuel line goes directly into the carb body, no sign of a filter housing (like there is on the Z28's Quadrajet - have to change that sucker every few months now!!) 8NRay is right about checking for a onwer installed inline filter, as I recently did just that to the Z28 to catch rust before it gets to the carb filter - I need a new tank on that car.
The F100 carb is a two BBL. This truck was purchased new by my Granddad (deceased 1988), it's possible the carb could have been changed sometime many years ago, but I'm fairly certain it is the OEM.
Thanks Again, Joey

Hmmm... is it just a straight fitting there?
