Does anybody know if THIS will work in place of the factory radio/navigation unit in an 04 navigator? On our factory piece the 6 in dash quit working and the factory navigation system is slow, cumbersome, and refuses to be reset from the original owner. Dealer wants $1200 for replacement parts, so if I can stick this plain jane radio in it's place for $90 I'll be most happy.
I ran into a very similiar issue with my now deceased 2004 explorer. It's been a while
and different trucks, so take for what it's worth:
my best guess is if your current setup has the gray connectors and plugs, it will work. If you have the older style with the black plugs, it won't, unless you buy or make an adapter. I seem to remember that the changeover occured sometime in 2004. Ford makes an adapter cable to go from black plug equipt truck to gray plug radio, the but the price was more than the stereo you are looking at ( the adapter was $100+ back when i was looking into)
