"off road diesel" is nothing more than ULSD with a red dye added to show that road use tax has not been paid on it.

Where do you guys get your info? Off road fuel is for farm machinery and I don't think they will quit making it unless they come up with a way to deduct the taxes you pay on it.

What they are referring to is a special allowance for non ULSD (higer than 15ppm sulfur) diesel for farm use being phased out.

Going forward, farm diesel will be ULSD like everyone else.

But it will still be dyed.... and if you are caught with dye in your tank / filter.. enjoy.

i get my info from the fuel rack at the refineries.
off road fuel is not for farm machinery.
off road fuel is for any vehicle that is not used on the road and requiring road use tax, hence the name off road fuel.
site trucks use off road fuel, as do all construction equipment
ULSD has been the only diesel fuel you can buy in New Jersey for over 5 years now.
the only difference between on road and off road is the dye pack that is put in the tank.
i put 3000 gallons in the on road tanks and pay tax on that. the 3000 gallons that go into the off road tanks get dyed. the fuel comes out of the same pipes and the same tanks.
