I need some real help.. I have been workin very slowly now on restoring a 1969 Ford f-100 ranger. Long wheel base with the orginal motor.orignal 60,000 miles on the motor which I guess is alot but to me its a testament to the truck its self. I am so close to having it Finished. Final Stage now of just small things like trim and paint.. My problem is I can not seem to find the trim I need and to be honest I am not sure where to look. I have used up all my local resources and now dont know where to turn so someone please help me and point me in the right direction.. Thank you
Sometimes it takes more than 23 minutes or so for people to answer you. That's just the way forums are. I know a lot of people don't like their stuff, but I saw that LMC Truck has a lot of or all of the trim for your truck.
sorry I really dont know alot about the computer business.. I have an LMC Truck magazine but I am really wantin to use old parts. Parts that at some point in time a man or woman stood on an assembly line and made them or put them on a previous truck.. All I need now is the upper bed trim and the trim on the tailgate and a grill. So far every peice on this is a truck is a peice that came out on a 69 ford. The motor is supposed to be original but I dont think it is. My research is very limited more word of mouth I guess you would say.
i do thank you for the help thou.. Its just... well the only thing I am not gonna fix on my truck is the dash. I am leaving it alone. Its like if that old dash could talk "dang" at the stories it could..
I see from your profile you are in Georgia. Me too, Thomaston.
If you're trying to get only parts that were originally installed, there are quite a few of our trucks at Johnson's Auto Salvage in Griffin.
You might give them a call with a list of what you're looking for. (770) 227-4244
If you don't want to use reproduction stuff - happy hunting - it's very difficult to find original stuff that isn't in pretty rough condition.
Dennis Carpenter and National Parts Depot are two sources I used for restoring my truck.
And, locally, there is Melvin's Classic Ford in Conyers, GA.
I do thank you all for the help and I appologize for being carried away. The night I made the post I had been on the phone and to several different forums and everyone told me the same thing " its impossible to built a truck with all original parts." Just got old. I run a scrap yard in North Ga. The truck I have I bought for scrap. I have several great parts for 67-72, several trucks that are perfect to be restored. straight bodies and all. I was hopin there was someone that might have what I need and I have what they need and maybe swap. Also I have a 72 f-100. I have managed to get all the body parts I need but I can't decide on what motor to go with any ideas? I am not sure what came in them. Again Thank You all. The Smallest bit of help is greatly appreciated.
These trucks, depending on the model, came with upper and lower side mouldings, tailgate moulding(s), tailgate finish panel, taillamp bezels...all of which are anodized aluminum.
The upper side mouldings * have been reproduced by Dennis Carpenter, as have all 4 wheel opening mouldings.
The lower ribbed mouldings (if applicable) AFAIK, have not been reproduced.
Suggest you contact Carpenter (800-476-9653) and request his free 1967/79 truck parts catalog.
* NOTE: Be aware if looking for used parts that all 1967's and 1968's before serial number C56,001 have upper side mouldings that are 1 1/4" wide.
1968's from serial number C56,001, 1969's & 1970/72 Customs & Sport Customs have 1 1/2" wide upper side mouldings.
