Ed, that's sweet. I especially like the hood scoop and that shaved tailgate handle is too cool. I'd be interested to know how you did that. Do you have a pic of it on the inside?
Ron, thanks for the complement. I don't have pictures of the insides--yet--I'll try to take a few and post them. The shaved tailgate handle came as a kit from Sir Michales. It is basically just two pieces of precut and prebent sheetmetal. The piece for the outside is bent to approximate the tailgate contour and fits just inside the handle opening. Had to tack weld and then apply bondo over the area. The inside piece was bent to fit over the access panel. It had holes cut out of it to attach the handle assembly to it and the entire piece was screwed to the inside. The access panel had to be cut to provide an opening.
The hood is a more complex task. I cut out the middle part of the hood and frame and welded on the Torino scoop; this includes the required frame section from the Torino hood. You can't see it in the pic but since I failed to properly support the truck's hood assembly prior to cutting out the middle section, it is a bit tweaked on the rear corners. Didn't check it prior to painting and now I'm stuck with having to fix it somehow .
Hope I didn't totally confuse you--pics will probably provide you with a better explanation. BTW, I saw this on another 87-91 and a 92 F150 in either Truckin and/or Sport Truck magazine, so I can't take the credit for being the first to adapt a Torino scoop to one of our trucks.
