I didn't mention, but the power rating of the combination is larger then if individual resistors were used.

Yes, as there is more surface area and air flow possible.

And, where reactance is an undesirable factor, a more purely "resistive" high-wattage resistor can be manufactured out of smaller ones.

RF dummy loads come to mind.

I used a meter to verify it. I got an ohm reading of 463 end to end. I didn't pull up any formulas because that was easier. I was curious about how much current is going to ground when the AIH is activated. I figured solving for I in ohms law it would be 12v/470ohms. Which would give you .0255. I guess that would be in amps.
