update, how much damage would this cause

some idiot ran a jumper wire from the tan/lt. green wire from the fuel pump relay to the yellow/lt green wire from the icm to comp. their j/wire was tied in at the relays, ran through the firewall harness to bout 3" from comp.only reason i noticed it was out of place cause i saw the butt-conn in the wire bundle. removed this j-wire and the fuel pumps stopped coming on at all. replaced comp and fuel pumps act like their supposed to. now theirs no fire, and i get code 95.(fuel pressure monitor fault) So now I check new icm and getting bad readings,(think j-wire fried it) since its new im gonna trade in bad part for another new one, (might even sue autozone for selling bad parts.lol) wondering how many things this j-wire could hurt and if comp is compatible, haven't figured out where fuel pressure monitor fits on my 86,,,comp's out of an newer model with composite headlights,89+ not sure what yr it is, just that it's a 2.9 eec-iv, auto, 2-wheel dr. mines 4-wheel dr. anyways guess my prior posts are over and i"m startin all over again. At least now my fuel pumps kick on and off like their supposed to. So once again, any help on this issue would be greatly apprieciated..

Make sure you get the correct ECM. If you get an ecm that reads features that your vehicle doesn't have, things won't work. Sounds like a new harness would save you a big headache. Once you start jumping wires to make things work, because something else is broken, things go down hill real fast. Especially if it was someone else that (rewired) it. Just my 2 cents from alot of headaches. Cheers and Merry Christmas...

that's the only fire i found jumped, once i unjumped it a replaced eec fuel pump circuit works now, but i think that wire fried the new ecm, i'm gonna replace it and see what happens
