In the process of reassembly and I have all the wiring and vac lines done. There is a box mounted to the firewall in the cab that has a pair of wires going to a (temp sensor?) in the door jamb, plus some wires and vac lines going thru the firewall. Part # on the box is DOAF-9E718. I can't find any thing on this, any help would be appreciated.
It is a 1971 f-100. Previous owner replaced original 302 with a 351w, it also has a edelbrock performer intake and 600 cfm edelbrock carb. I don't know what year the 351 is, but I think it came from a car instead of a truck. This box is approximately a 3" cube shape with two vacuum inlets(outlets?) and a wiring component that splits and goes to a small device in the drivers door jamb, and thru the firewall. The three wires that go thru the firewall terminate in a single bullet type conn. , and a double wire plug conn. There is no factory air on this truck, just the standard heater and fresh air inlets. The breather has also been replaced with an open style filter, so maybe this was part of the cold start apparatus associated with factory breather?
