Check engine light

I have a 1997 250 HD. I put Shorty headers on because my exhaust manifold was leaking exhaust from three of the cylinders. These headers came ported for the A.I.R. injection system but they did not have threads for the thermactor system that connects right above the flange. I have capped the lines but the check engine light has come on. If I had an OBD II sensor I don't know where it is. If you have any suggestions on how to fix it or where my OBD II sensor is I would appreciate the help.
Thanks

FYI.. the thermactor system is the air injection system, but it sounds like you bought headers for the version with the little tubes above each port instead of the one with the large single connect near the flange. Why Ford has to have 3 different systems for the same job is anybody's guess, but you best bet is to pull the codes to see exactly what is being flagged and then apply an appropriate fix.
Your truck is not OBD-2(yes I'm positive about that) so find the OBD-1 test connector under the hood on the drivers inner fender and pull the codes.
