You got a new mechanical diode? Then you REALLY got taken! NOBODY reinstalls a mechanical diode. That's building a failure right into the trans.
Look Mark. I got anything but taken. I spent $900 to REBUILD MY ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. He said he was surprised it even moved! It only cost $800, but since he is my uncle and he did it for so cheap I gave him a $100 tip. Now I'm sure I don't know as much about transmissions as you. I don't claim to. But he retrofitted the '00/'02 setup into the transmission. I said that earlier in the post. I didn't literally mean a new diode. I meant whatever replaces the diode. I have no idea what it is as I am a Mechanical Engineer at Bosch and not an Automatic Transmission Engineer. I'm sorry but he is my transmission expert and always has been. I trust him over someone over the internet any day and it will always be that way. He knows what he is doing and he fixed my transmission by replacing the diode among the other stuff that broke (he was not expecting however). I have put about 30,000 miles on it now with no issue. You can say anything you want but just because you are (or claim to be) an Automatic Transmission Engineer I am not going to bow down to some guy that can't get off his high horse.
