gas tank swaps
i am considering removing tank from cab and putting one in the rear of frame. iv looked into the mustang tank and read johns website on this but was wondering what the other options are. isuzu tank i know but dont know how and what?
what are you running in your swap and how hard was it.
im stockpilling parts for the warm weather, and for better times.

I used an 85 Isuzu trooper tank in my '51. It fits between the rails with only a small amount of grinding. Mine is a 15 gal. but I'm pretty sure there are bigger ones available. Only cost $65 at the boneyard.

I haven't tryed it but I think it would work. I have looked at one though. It is held up by straps between two crossmembers. The gas door is flush with the side of the vehicle.

I put an Art Morrison 20-gal tank behind my rear end melon on my '59. It's made by Triangle Manufacturing. My only screw up was to get a top-side fuel feed. I should have gotten a input port on one side or the other so I could run a fuel filler neck to a gas door. I had a brace made to "cradel" the tank in place. Worked out pretty well (except for having the filler hole on top instead of on one side or the other!).
FYI, I notice that Summit Racing has fuel cells, too.
