Angry Deployed 2000 F-150 Heater Core problem

I have a 2000 F-150 5.4L 4x4. I am currently deployed and my wife has the truck. Just yesterday she told me my heater core went out again the only way she knows this is its the 4th time in just over a year. Can anyone tell me what would cause a heater core to go out so many times in a short period? What should I have my wife do? I do not want to get rid of my truck and I wont be back for another few months. Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated.

Electrolysis has a negative affect on heater cores.

If the coolant shows signs of electricity this will affect the heater core.

Connect a meter to the negative battery post and insert the other lead into the coolant in the rad.

If there is a reading the coolant must be replaced or more cores will fail.

The use of distlilled water is needed at times.

i would add that you should always use distilled water..cheap investment...and i doubt any shops are using it.
email your dealer or have your wife ask them....or if you have a buddy, have them do it to ensure distilled water is used.
