4.9 has just as much get up and go/hualing power as a 5.0 or 5.8 does in my opinion my 96 with the 4.9 pulls just as hard as my 88 did with the 5.8 in it and gets 17mpg where the 88 got 8

Thanks for the info i just needed to know if it would have the power to pull a skidsteer or tractor you say it has as much power as a 5.8 and my old 95 pulled them with a 5.8.

straight six's are all low end grunt, great for hauling and towing. and they're seriously the best option for a "work motor" besides a 460 or diesel. they run forever and parts are cheap for the crap that does go out on them, which is usually just general wear items like coils and distributor caps. the 351's and 302's are good motors but they make their power at higher rpms and get less mileage.

My 1995 f150 with a 4.9/5spd/ 3.55 gears a 4" lift and 33" procomp mts gets about 12 but it rarely leaves the driveway without the trailer behind it, fishhouse in it or front lockouts unlocked.

Well I wouldve used wad rather than tard and used "smegma burger" in there somewhere but yeah, pretty good. A- overall.

It wouldve been a solid B+ but you received bonus points for posting in an opioid enduced haze.

I was just trying to say im not on this forum all the time but when i do come here its just to get info im not going to waste my life to stay on here trading insults
