Got my base oil report, 6% fuel. Oouch

If it helps to make anybody feel better, I have 22,300 (I think) miles on my 6.7. Yesterday I added 24oz. of coolant to bring the level from the bottom line to the top line on the "cold fill" thing on the degass bottle.
Where did it go? I don't know but I think the winter type temperature simply just shrinks the volume of the liquid a little.

First and foremost water doesn't compress so any water in a cylinder will put unnecessary stress on the headbolts/gaskets during the compression stroke and then that water will turn to steam which increases the cylinder temperature which puts again unnecessary stress on the headbolts/gaskets.
The problem is what amount of water in the cylinders causes these problems????? I can say this my cousin who is a Ford diesel tech has replaced more 6.4 engines from damage caused by leaking EGR coolers than he's replaced 6.0 engines. Leaking EGR coolers is an issue not to ignore!

Question: So if your EGR coolers are leaking then an oil report will show coolant in the oil correct? Just wondering if this is a good verification or not.

My experience with my 6.0 fluid level is that I changed the fluid ~ 2 years ago and have 50k - 60k miles on it and I've never had to add a drop of fluid.
I'm planning on doing another coolant change next month as I always preferred to do this type of work during winter months (Texas winter months I shoud add).

In my shade tree opinion you would see it in your oil as well.
Hot motor= minor evap of coolant...
BTW, I have a 2008 Buick Luecerne...it loosing some coolant or pukes it every once in awhile on a hot day.

Even my 2008 Buick Luecerne will puke and loose a little every once in awhile. Although the pressure point in contained at the radiator and the degass is just an overlow it will puke there once in awhile when very hot outside and a long run.
It would loose about the same amount as we exp. with the 6.4.

Stanley,
Based upon what you are indicating everything is as normal as can be.
They only thing I can think of is a nasty regen while at a lower speed. If that ever happens again try dropping down to a lower gear and get the rpms up.
That is what happened to me on my last one. I had a really nasty regen and I was stuck shutting it off and then it restarting a few times till I could get it done.
Luckily it was close to a oil change time.
