Engine Fail Safe - Left Me Stranded
I have a 2005 Ford Expedition 5.4L. Last night, driving about 55 mph, the Engine Fail Safe Mode messsage came on. Car went into idle with no acceleration. Pulled over, turned inginiton off, turned back on and made it home fine. It was about 1 degree outside, so thought I may not have let it warm up enough. Driving again today, now it is -4 degrees. I let engine warm-up for quite awhile. Drove for about 15 miles and same message apeared. Pulled over, turned off and on again, then it died on me with no idle. Finally limped to a parking lot and had it towed to a mechanic. They are so busy they haven't had a chance to look at it. Any thoughts on what it might be?
