Batteries Toast?

Well the other day my truck would crank real slow. I said screw it cause its to cold, let it sit a couple day till tonight. Checked the batteries voltage sitting both tested 12.33 and the other was 12.08. got a buddy to crank the truck while I checked, when the Glow plugs came on things dropped to 10.03 volts at the batteries. As soon as he started cranking it went down to around 6.23 volts.

I see the glow plugs make voltage drop a lot. Got an idea to unplug the wires for the glow plugs at the fender mounted solenoid. Truck cranked A LOT faster!!! Brought out some starting fluid and it fired right up. Remember guys the glow plugs were unplugged.

Let it sit for a few minutes idling. Shut it off hooked glow plugs back up and its back to cranking slower but not as slow as it was at first. Wouldnt crank over fast enough to fire up. Batteries drained right there after a bit of cranking.

The batteries are both matching 1000 Cranking and 850 CCA. Im running Rotella 15w40 and the temperatures outside around 20 Degrees F.

Any ideas on whats going on here? Im trying to get the booger started to bleed out all the air in the lines from my filter install/filter head rehab. I did check I am getting fuel out of the schrader valve.
