Big Rig fuel nozzle question
Big Rig fuel nozzle question
Will a 2008 F-250 Lariet (6.4 diesel) accept the 'Big Rig Nozel's' at truck stops?
Will the filler neck on my truck accommodate the big nozzel?
I admit I've never checked. My bad.
I've been fueling at Diesel pumps on the car side at regular stations.
I've already had a couple of problems trying to back a 30' trailer to get out when yo-yo's blocked me in...

It will fit, just remember it comes out fast so stay right there. Also know about how much to put in the as it will foam up from being so fast and you will want to give it a minute....and you think it is hard for you? Add 10 more feet.
I filled up my old '85 VW Golf Diesel at the truck pumps a couple of times (sure looked out of place though). As senix said though, it comes out really fast. Seemed like it only took a few seconds to fill that 18 gallon tank I had in it. That gets me thinking, the first vehicle I owned got 40-50 mpg, now I have one that gets 10 mpg.
if you start slow you will know about wher it will click off of the holder. i just put it on the first click of the holder it will fill ok with out blowing out of the filler neck when its full just watch it if you put it on a faster setting and DO NOT stand in front of it.
The only issue I've had using the big rig pumps has been the foaming - fills quick but foam will spit back out @ ya when it gets close to full. I've learned to pump at full speed for about 20 gals then slow the knozzle down for the last 5-10 gals.
Saves all those radiators and is a pretty good snow pusher too.

The station I fill at has 2 types of nozzles in the diesel section. One set has a lip on the end of the nozzle so that you can stick it in the fill of a rig and catch the inside edge so it holds there. That one doesn't fit in my filler neck.
They also have ones that have a smooth nozzle and that fits in just right. It's a pain if you pull up at the wrong pump.
