Hey Guys, new here but have a question regarding my 2000 F250 SD w/7.3. I was having issues w/ 4x4 not engaging, so I first started with the lockouts, replacing the auto-lockers w/warn. Thought this would take care of it but it seems the passenger front does not want to lock in. I put the entire truck off the ground to test a few things and then took the hub apart. I noticed significant movement in the axle shaft and when I try to move the axle shaft a little then the hublock would push in far enough to lock in. Do I need to start thinking about replacing the hub? what is making it loose?

you can look and see what it is supposed to look like. The picture I'm more talking about is of the spring clip holding your stub axle in with the bearing unit. That you can see under the 4x4 hub so you don't have to take alot apart.
There will be some play in that stub shaft thru there so some is ok. I am just wondering if you have 4 wheel abs? If some one added a different hub bearing unit on there that might be throwing things out some. Hmmm. The abs ones are slightly wider than the non abs, or so I have read on here, so not fully sure.
