fuel pump question

Hi from Canada and I would like to say this is the best site ever created. I have a 85 F-150 4x4 that has a 351w HO. I restored the truck from ground up. The motor is rebuilt and I put flat tops and bored it 30over but that's it. I put a 5speed in and I'm running 33's with 3:55gears. On that year the fuel pump has no return line and I was wondering if this would make my truck any harder on gas. I put a new holley 570 street aven on and it's duel inlet. It seems to flood itself sometimes and I can't figure out why. It doesn't do it often but I find off the line when I hammer on it it doesn't get enough fuel and I've messed with timing and all that fun stuff. Any info would be greatly accepted.

fuel pump question

Not having a return line won't do anything. Its how hard you push on the pedal that is relative to the amount of gas that the beast drinks. The float needles (should) stop the fuel when the bowls are full but you say it floods sometimes. Check the float hight to make sure it's not to high and also check the needles for grit and pits and scratches that prevent them from sealing correctly.
