Hey guys, can someone please tell me the track width of the Dana 50 TTB? I have an 86 F250HD with the Dana 50 under it right now. To make a long story short, I'm looking at doing a Cummins swap into my truck because I can get a 91 Dodge 250 complete donor with very low miles (70k). What I am considering doing is swapping the Dana 60 from the Dodge with the passenger differential, which will allow me to use the Cummins, Getrag and transfer case to mate up to the Dodge Dana 60 swapped under my truck. Are the Dana 60's the same out to the steering knuckles etc across all brands? From the specs I've found the Dana 60 track width under the 90-91.5 Dodge is about 2" narrower than the Dana 60 under the same vintage fords. I know they are also opposite side differential and low pinion versus high pinion, but my thought is is you take a high pinion and flip it to the other side, you would have a low pinion, thus making me think they might be the same general front axle? How does the track width of the TTB compare to the Dana 60, both of Ford variation? The reason for asking is because I know I will have to at least put the Ford steering components on the Dodge axle, so if I put the Ford steering on the Dodge axle and attain the same track width as a early 90's "Ford" Dana 60, I really need to be comparing the track width of the TTB versus "Ford" Dana 60. Hopefully this all makes sense? Sorry for the frantic, confused post, I'm in a time crunch to decide if I am going to purchase this truck and how much I am going to pay, based on what other components I can use for the swap and/or what additional components I'll need to buy.
