I started my brake questions under a different post; now need remove one of the emergency brake actuators due to a big air leak. My C900 fire truck has two air actuated pistons that are attached to the underside of the frame on one end and to cables running back to the brakes units on the other. I need to remove one of the pistons so it can be repaired.
Does anyone know the proper procedure? The cable is under quit a bit of tension with no air pressure available (due to the leak). I can see how to unbolt it from the frame. It looks straight forward enough but what about all that tension? Any tips will be appreciated.
