I always park out in the open, even small vehicles.
I always laugh when I see someone driving around for five minutes looking for the nearest parking spot when they could have walked from the other side of the parking lot by then.
I put my Brute Force, with 27" tires, on top of 2 row's of firewood, Generator on the rack Coolers in the camper, and miscellaneous Kid's toy's and Gas Oil Chainsaw wedged in!
Well, I am considering the purchase of a 40' 5th wheel, and 5 RV dealers have agreed, get the long bed and avoid the slider!
A number of 40' 5-ers have also agreed, go LB
What reasoning did they give you to avoid the slider as I had two dealers say no problem ?
And after getting it, my superglide slider works perfectly with my 5th wheel...
now it's only 38 foot, not 40, but my goodness this truck handles it well !
curious what they said.....
now the lb or sb is personal preference, just like which oil to use
the front of these thigns turn MUCH better than any of my excursions... just look at the front tires when turned full lock !
but I am still having my turnaround extended about 3' more than the Excursions ever needed !
but I will tell you even with the shortbed parking lots are still fun ! Heck, so many jealous wally world folks love to door ding a new vehicle !
Get a long bed all day. Short beds not only look goofy but they are less than fully functional. Do not trade bed length for cab size. Keep the long bed no matter what you do for cab size.
i agree, not only do short beds look super goofy, but they are robbing you of fuel, space and stability. long bed for life here. and i live in a big city. not a problem. reminds me of a saying, you dont need brakes, just brains.
I see I haven't commented in this thread yet since it was from way back when. I will now put in my vote for long bed.
Also a reason why I went for the HD pickup again, no need to compromise and choose between cab space or a normal sized bed like you do with a light duty pickup.
