Try another 390 Holley, I know they can be finicky, but when you hit the sweet spot........They cannot be beat.
Any of you guys ever find a 350cfm Holley 2bbl, PM me.........I want one for my 2.8 V6
I've got the Holley 350, but it's sensing port for the ported vacuum advance is machined in the wrong spot...
I'll have to jerk around with Holley, maybe I can get them to give me a 390 for a better price since they sold me a defective 350..who knows?
Maybe that 350 2bbl could get "lost" in return shipment!.....he he
I have a buddy that runs a 3904v Holley on his 302, during warmer weather he gets 21-22 mpg consistently on the freeway, sometimes better........and when the secondaries open, its a kick!.........Of course, its in a Bronco II!
lol I suppose it would kick! This Edelbrock I have on mine now I yanked off of a friends blown up chebbie that was sitting in the trees for the last 5+ years...it runs OK but I'm very sure that burns way more fuel than it should, and I'm not too sure that the secondaries are opening. If they are, I sure can't tell anyway, but that could be the 3.00:1 gears in the axle on that one...oh well, I have to rebuild the axles anyway so maybe while I'm doing all that, I'll keep my eye out for a cheap 390 and try it just for kicks and giggles....who knows? maybe this one will work?
I bought it as an FDO from Advance Auto Parts, it was about 300 something, but I used to work there and know most of the guys behind the counter yet, so they knocked it down to 280...I was really happy with that, but its only a piece of junk now....
